Choosing the Right Format for Your APA Research Paper

Choosing the Right Format for Your APA Research PaperThe first step is the choice of a format in which to submit your APA research paper. Some people might say to go with the PDF format. However, others might suggest that you use the Microsoft Word format, or the Apple Pages format. Which one do you choose?Well, the PDF format is compatible with all Microsoft Word files, including Microsoft Office. However, the PDF format is also open to all other formats. The problem with using the PDF format is that it can take longer to read on a slow computer. Also, you may find that your information is not formatted properly. For example, if your notes are set up in the order of the paragraphs, your notes are too long.Because of these problems, it may be a better choice to do your research in the Microsoft Word format, and then convert the PDF to the Word format, in order to make sure that everything is properly formatted, and your notes are properly organized. Then you can save the file as a PD F.Some people feel that converting from Word format to PDF format will save time, but this is only true if you are doing a whole research paper, and you have plenty of time to convert the PDF to Word format. If you are doing a single page for an essay, then the conversion will likely save you time. Or, if you do not mind waiting a few minutes, then it may be worth the few minutes it takes to convert. So it really depends on what you need.Of course, if you need a long, detailed report, then you might prefer to go with the PDF format. But most researchers tend to go with the Word format, because they want to ensure that the formatting is perfect. They do not want to have a completely inaccurate document, because there is so much information involved with their paper. However, some of the best results come from using the Adobe Acrobat reader. This allows you to download your research paper as a PDF and convert it into a Word format file. When you do this, the Acrobat reader will convert the PDF into a Word format file, but it will not change the way the PDF looks. It just converts the PDF into a word file.If you do not have Acrobat reader, then you will have to write the research paper as it is, and then convert it to Word format with the Acrobat reader. This is easier, but the PDF formatting will not be as accurate as if you had used the Acrobat reader. Before you decide on a format for your APA research paper, take a look at what you want to accomplish with your paper. If you only need to convert one or two pages, then it may be worth it to convert to PDF, since you will be able to save some time.
